Plot summary: Jakie Rabinowitz is a young man from a Jewish family. He disrespects his parents and traditions by singing in a beer hall. He is punished for his actions and runs away. Years later he becomes a popular Jazz singer under a fake name. On his way to becoming a successful entrepreneur, he needs to decide whether he will return to his family of pursue his career.
