    Plot summary: This movie covers Henry VIII’s marriages. After he executes his second wife, Henry marries her maid, who dies during childbirth. He then marries a German princess whom he divorces later on as he doesn’t find her beautiful anymore. His next wife is Lady Katherine Howard, who fells in love with Henry’s courtier. This marriage ends as the two loves are executed. Henry’s last marriage is with Catherine Parr. The movie was a huge commercial success!

  1. Charles Laughton is an excellent actor. Better than any you’ll find these days.
    I want to say Peter Ustinov may be like him but then I believe Laughton is better bcs he (CL) also played comedies and performed real well under very heavy makeup as the Hunchback of Notre Dame where he did not even talk much and mostly acted and performed with 1 eye!
    Oh and of course Laughton was master at Shakespeare’s material.
